Kotor Bay has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site on the basis of its natural beauties and historical monuments. However, the area’s infrastructure poses serious problems. The increasing volume of tourist traffic coupled with the lack of a long-term vision for the development of the transport system has resulted in an unacceptable level of pressure.

Cetinje, the old royal capital of Montenegro, has great potential in terms of cultural and nature-based tourism. Public spaces in Cetinje, including streets, plazas, parks, public buildings and institutions, can become tourist destinations and engines of economic life, attracting visitors and supporting residents.

The UN Eco Building in Montenegro is located on the Moraca River in Podgorica. It uses efficient, ecological technology and has a modern design that both satisfies the Montenegrin Government's commitment to being an ecological state, and provides an appropriate premises for the UN in Montenegro.
