Slovene Export and Development Bank, Inc., Slovenia

The Slovene Export and Development Bank, Inc., Ljubljana (SID Banka), is 100 percent state owned and is a promotional and development bank that specialises in providing financing for small and medium-sized enterprises, research and development, environment and infrastructure. It is also a national export credit agency. SID Banka owns a number of subsidiaries that have complementary missions to its own, and which together form SID Banka Group. SID Banka is able to undertake activities related to EU Cohesion Policy funds and is also engaged in general banking activities (although no retail business), as well as acting as an agent of the Republic of Slovenia. In 2009, SID Banka became an authorised institution for managing specific mandates in connection with the Kyoto Protocol.
